There was double title glory for Kentish Town this weekend as both U13s and U12s won matches that place them in unassailable positions at the top of their respective Camden and Regents Park leagues.
Town’s U13A side demolished bottom of the table Regent’s Park Spartans 9-0, with a brace of early goals from defender Max Leach setting them on their path to victory, the second a magnificent strike from range. In-form striker Jayden Bailey-Jennings grabbed a hat trick and midfielders Blend Gashi and Oscar Del Torto chipped in with two goals apiece, as Town continued a run that has seen only one league defeat in the last 12 months. Following Arsenal Community and Pro Touch FC drawing earlier in the day, the victory secures the league title for Town with a couple of games yet to play.
With West End U12s beating Arsenal Community with a late penalty strike in the weekend’s earlier game, Kentish Town only had to win their lunchtime encounter with Primrose Hill to secure a second league title in two hours. Despite going behind 0-1 within minutes of kick off, Town equalised quickly through Nathan Jobbins and effectively controlled the game from that point onward. Dominating possession, Town raced into a 5-1 lead with a magnificent solo goal from centre-back Berkay Sakin, further strikes from Lukas Boyd and Joshua Oghenekaro and a second from the outstanding Nathan Jobbins. A late consolation goal for Primrose Hill saw the game end 5-2, enough to secure a deserved U12 9v9 league title for Kentish Town.
Elsewhere on Regent’s Park, Town’s U9 and U11 teams secured semi-final slots for themselves in their respective cup competitions in a day of victories for Kentish Town.
