PRESS: Silverware chasers reap the rewards – CNJ 24/03/16

by STEVE BARNET

THE silverware chase continued on Saturday as the cream of Camden and Islington’s footballers flocked to Regent’s Park for another day of cup finals and title deciders.

Following on from our March 17 picture special, meet four more teams who celebrated a trophy triumph on Saturday in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League.

Youngsters from Kentish Town Football Academy added more silverware to the shelf by coming from a goal down to beat Pro Touch Soccer Academy 2-1 in the Under-12s League Cup final.

Town pulled level when one of Max Leach’s Rory Delap-style long throws into the box resulted in Denny Smith rifling the ball home from close range.

With penalties looming, another of Leach’s testing-torpedo throw-ins was cleared to Smith, who fed the ball to Oscar Del Toro.

Del Toro sent in a pinpoint ball across the face of the goal, where Ylli Nici was waiting to smash home the winner.
