Another fantastic weekend of football for Kentish Town’s great young sides as they continue to perform well in all age groups of the Camden and Regents Park League, with plenty of great performances, many of them from players playing a year above their usual age group and 25 goals scored across 5 games.
Our U13Bs finally got the convincing victory that early season performances deserved, as they again dominated a game from start to finish, but this time got the goals as well, putting four past CFBL in a game in which the ball rarely entered their own half. A particularly impressive performance, given that half of the team were U12s playing up a year (and playing very well, too).
Our U11s (plus a couple of U12s) continued to show why they are one of our most exciting age groups, as they enjoyed themselves thoroughly, playing some great football as they ran out 5-0 winners of their U12 7v7 game against Pro Touch SA.
Despite failing to score this weekend, our U10s showed some real potential, but are still a very new team learning to play together, and were unlucky to lose 2-0 – Town’s only loss of the weekend – but look like they are going to be very good indeed when it all comes together.
The U9s shared a 14 goal thriller with Eagles FC, with both defences clearly not bothering to turn out for a game that ended 7-7 in front of an excited crowd.
And finally, our outstanding U8 group scored the most goals of the weekend, putting eight past Primrose Hill in a game they eventually won 8-3.
